Donald Trump’s Heartbreaking Response To The Murder Of Dallas Police Officers

As a society, in times like these we often look to public figures to voice what we cannot. Say what you will about Donald Trump, but the words that he spoke about the massacre show that he has a true empathetic view on human tragedy.

Trump issued an official statement from his Facebook page, and we’re given an inside look – past the rhetoric – to see again what a Trump Presidency would really look like, and honestly, it’s reassuring.

His words are extremely powerful.. and also very heartbreaking. I’m at a loss for words right now and he sums up a lot of feelings in a short amount of time.

“Last night’s horrific execution-style shootings of 12 Dallas law enforcement officers – five of whom were killed and seven wounded – is an attack on our country. It is a coordinated, premeditated assault on the men and women who keep us safe.

We must restore law and order. We must restore the confidence of our people to be safe and secure in their homes and on the street.

The senseless, tragic deaths of two people in Louisiana and Minnesota reminds us how much more needs to be done. This morning I offer my thoughts and prayers for all of the victims’ families, and we pray for our brave police officers and first responders who risk their lives to protect us every single day.

Our nation has become too divided. Too many Americans feel like they’ve lost hope. Crime is harming too many citizens. Racial tensions have gotten worse, not better. This isn’t the American Dream we all want for our children.

This is a time, perhaps more than ever, for strong leadership, love and compassion. We will pull through these tragedies.”

He also posted a video response shortly after those words… AND IT IS POWERFUL. Dare I say, Presidential?

Now is the time for prayers, love, unity and leadership. Our children deserve a better future than what we’re making them live through today. to get there we must work together and stand together. We will make America safe again.

We must restore law and order. We must restore the confidence of our people to be safe and secure in their homes and on the street.

Unfortunately, this great response by Trump can’t be left alone to breathe. The left has a knee-jerk reaction and can’t extend any sort of PR grace to his campaign.

It’s sad that even a national tragedy like this can’t go five minutes without being politicized. It’s times like this where the country needs strong leadership that rises above the fray of politics and points the country in the direction it truly needs to go.
